UN food and agriculture organization is celebrating the year of natural fiber but Kolkota Fashion Week took it further by displaying West Bengal arts at a global platform.
True to Kolkota Fashion Week theme the Phulia designers delivered the most innovative show in the five day Kolkota fashion week. Traditionally Phulia designers have shied away from public eye restricting their heritage art to West Bengal and Bangladesh. Taking advantage of the show, the designers stole the limelight and left designer and buyer community buzzing about the fabric makers technique which can easily be molded in varied dress forms.
The designers displayed their versatility by displaying an array of fabric innovations using Tant, Tussar silk, Bangalore silk and Muga fibers. The designers stuck to the sari drape and did not delve into other silhouettes for the show.
If these phulia weaves n patterns r incorporated in western wear they shall look great.Placement of weave motif and pattern layout according to design of the garment can be done on corel draw. CAn i help or can anyone help me materialize this dream
