While Electric cars are termed as the car for the Next Gen, REVA- The only Indian electric car which was recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 promises to make heads turn on Indian roads. The Eco friendly car showcased the NXR for 2010 launch and NXG 2011 launch.

Finally Reva NXR becomes a 4-seater car family car with a three-four door entry system with a top speed of 104 Km. Right now Reva sells around 3000 units in India and abroad, but the new four seater capacity will propel its sales in burgeoning middle class market.

The smart telematics features like SMS Alerts and commands such as distance to empty, full-recharge signals are key features for this smart car. REVive technology is a Reva specific “range anxiety” addressal mechanism which uses invisible tank that can be recharged through a phone call or SMS to Reva Customer Service Centre.

True to Kolkota Fashion Week theme the Phulia designers delivered the most innovative show in the five day Kolkota fashion week. Traditionally Phulia designers have shied away from public eye restricting their heritage art to West Bengal and Bangladesh. Taking advantage of the show, the designers stole the limelight and left designer and buyer community buzzing about the fabric makers technique which can easily be molded in varied dress forms.

The designers displayed their versatility by displaying an array of fabric innovations using Tant, Tussar silk, Bangalore silk and Muga fibers. The designers stuck to the sari drape and did not delve into other silhouettes for the show.

In India, The word dalda is synonmous with hydrogenated oil or Vanaspati. For 75 years Dalda had occupied the Indian Kitchen before the healthy supplements started occupying its place.

The new Dalda promises to “resuscitate” itself in its new avatar.

 While the green date palm on yellow background survives, the revitalised logo connotes energy, vitality and flow. The change is not only with the packaging but with the product extension as well diving into sunflower oil in south and mustard and soyabean oil in the north.

Inspired by the book The Naked Sun from Isaac Asimov,D2-R2 from star wars, designer Martin Miklica has come up with a unique robot named Le Petit Prince to invade mars. This robot will help in “future exploration and expansion”  of population on Mars.

For this quintessential companion on Mars, the designer says:

“That’s quite good for one week’s vacation in the countryside, but for modern people it’s very depressing to live in such a place for several months or years. Therefore, the main benefit of Le Petit Prince is that it’s not just a machine, but more like a pet or silent friend that you can speak to when you aren’t in the mood to talk to people. On top of that, it is a good gardener that grows any plant you want or need to bare life or just for its beauty.”

Using commonly used space materials, this visionary robot is designed to be a friend on solitary mars capable of learning the process of “search of nutrients” for survival.
